Deanna Caruso

Deanna practiced as a solicitor advocate at Robert Stary
Lawyers from June 2006 to February 2010. During this time
she appeared in the Magistrates' Court, County Court and Supreme
Court of Victoria as a criminal defence advocate. Deanna has
worked in all areas of crime including: Murder/manslaughter,
drug cases, assaults, sex cases, fraud, dishonesty, traffic
offences, Commonwealth offences and extended supervision orders.
Deanna's appearance experience includes:
- Pleas in the County Court and Magistrates' Court
- Appeals in the County Court and as Junior to Michael O'Connell
SC in a Directors Appeal against sentence to the County
Court
- Bail applications in the Magistrates' Court and recently
in the Supreme Court for a client charged with murder in
the case of Ogrizovic
- Committals
- Contests
- Intervention Orders
Deanna has instructed and been involved in trials and in appeals
to the Court of Appeal.
Before working at Robert Stary Lawyers Deanna worked as a
duty lawyer at Melbourne Magistrates' Court for Victoria Legal
Aid Criminal Law Division. Deanna has an interest in human
rights and civil liberties.
