Damien began his
career in Brisbane at the Office of Public Prosecutions. He
then worked at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal as an Associate
to Deputy President Dr Gerber. His interest in administrative
law and appellate
work caused him to relocate to Canberra where he acted on behalf
of the Minister for Immigration in AAT hearings and Federal
Court appeals.
Damien has lectured and tutored at Griffith University and
Deakin University in Administrative Law, Contract Law and
Industrial Law.
After signing the Victorian Bar roll in 2000 Damien has continued
practising in a broad range of areas including:
Criminal law (prosecuting and defending primarily in County
Court trials and appeals)
Administrative Law
Industrial and OHS
Food Law
Damien also has a special interest in food law and food safety
issues. He is certified with RABSQA and the Department of
Human Services as a Principal Food Safety Auditor pursuant
to S.19P of the Food Act. His food auditing experience and
industry experience assists in advising and acting for prosecuting
authorities and defendants in this area.
