Daniel McGlone
|
Daniel previously worked at the Victorian Aboriginal Legal
Service, Victoria Legal Aid, the Department of Justice (working
principally on the new Crines Act) and the Office of the Attorney-General,
Victoria.
At VLA he occupied casework, advocacy and management positions:
- As in-house counsel for the Regional Offices he was briefed
to appear in contested matters, pleas and appeals, heard
in the Magistrates', County and Supreme Courts as well as
appeals in the Court of Appeal.
- At the Criminal Law Division of Victoria he was responsible
for a wide range of cases of varying complexity including
appeals, pleas and trials in the County and Supreme Courts.
- Working at the regional offices of Geelong and Ballarat
he regularly dealt with Civil, Family and Administrative
Law matters involving appearances before VCAT and the Mental
Health Review Tribunal.
In 2002 he went to Mongolia as a volunteer. There he worked
with the State Prosecutors' Office, where he developed a human
rights supplement to the prosecution manual, and the Mongolian
Women Lawyers' Association.
Having completed a Masters in Criminal Law and Human Rights,
Daniel is currently undertaking a PhD in the field of Criminal
Law at the University of Melbourne.
