List M was established in 1973 with the appointment of Doug
Muir.
Initially the list was quite small in number with many members
signing the bar roll only in that year, whilst the balance
of the list was made up of senior & junior counsel who had
transferred from other lists to assist the new clerk in establishing
a solid base.
Many original members have displayed great loyalty and remained
with the list and numbers have grown to about 100.
Upon Doug Muir's retirement in 1992 the committee of list
M appointed Glenn Meldrum as clerk and ensured a smooth transition.
Meldrum's list now boasts a very strong commercial & criminal
law contingent complemented by specialists in many other areas
of the law.
